Desde então, temos visto aumentar o número de estudos que evidenciam a vida e o trabalho de professores. Desta forma, emerge a pertinência em aprofundar o nosso conhecimento na área da Satisfação dos professores de natação infantil, e determinar de que forma esta se relaciona com as aprendizagens dos alunos neste contexto. É também importante ter em conta que, o professor está inserido no contexto de uma organização desportiva, que implica a prestação de serviços. Nestas estruturas organizativas, as relações interpessoais estão sempre presentes, quer seja ao nível pessoal, sócio-profissional, no convívio estabelecido entre os colegas de trabalho ou na relação com os alunos. A escolha desta temática, no contexto da leccionação de aulas de natação infantil, deveu-se ao facto de, no nosso entender, ser uma questão actual e relevante na nossa área de intervenção profissional. Através da convivência, da observação e do diálogo, sentimos que existem nas nossas piscinas, professores (técnicos) satisfeitos, e, outros insatisfeitos com a sua profissão. Neste sentido, esta investigação pretende averiguar e compreender as origens e as razões da Satisfação ou Insatisfação dos professores de natação do concelho de Viseu, que leccionam a crianças entre os três e os cinco anos de idade, de uma forma científica e pedagógica. Consideramos que a determinação do nível de Satisfação no trabalho é um meio para obter uma melhoria da organização e funcionamento da entidade empregadora e um contributo para uma auto-reflexão da prática profissional, bem como, para o bem-estar pessoal do professor de natação. O presente relatório é ainda visto, como uma reflexão acerca dos aspectos mais relevantes, decorridos da dimensão relativa à intervenção profissional, narrando em especial sobre a possibilidade que tivemos, de trabalhar na área da Natação Infantil.The first half of this century recorded a clear concern about the worker’s Satisfaction and consequently appeared the first theories about it. Since then, we have been watching an increase on the number of studies that look upon teachers’ life and work. Therefore emerges the importance of deepening our knowledge in the area of the Children Swimming teachers’ Satisfaction and determining in what way it relates to the pupils’ learnings in this context. It is also important to consider that the teacher is inserted in the context of a sportive organization that implies services rendering. In these organizational structures, the interpersonal relations are always there, either at the personal and socio-professional level, in the intercourse among fellow-workers or in the relationship with the pupils. The choice of this subject, in the context of children’s swimming teaching, was due to the fact that to our belief, it is an actual and pertinent issue in our area of professional intervention. Through the sociability, the observation and the dialogue, we notice that there are, in our swimming-pools, satisfied and dissatisfied teachers (technicians) with their jobs. In this sense, this research aims to inquire and understand the origins and the reasons of Satisfaction or Dissatisfaction among the swimming teachers of the municipality of Viseu, who teach children between three and five years of age, in a scientific and pedagogical way. We think that the determination of the level of Satisfaction at work is a way to get an improvement on the organization and functioning of the employer and a contribution to a self-reflection of the professional practice, as well as to the personal wellfare of the swimming teacher.
