Assim, pretendemos conhecer a
holisticamente.
utilizámos a estatística descritiva e inferencial.
Através desta investigação verificámos que
76.70% dos inquiridos apresentam QDV superior e que
23.30% QDV inferior.
Abstract Varicose ulcer is an extreme situation, responsible for a high rate of morbidity and psychological and physical pain. Given this fact, we felt the urge to prospect the Life Quality and Pain Status on patients suffering from varicose ulcer of the lower limbs. We aim to establish the Life Quality Status (LQS) on patients suffering from varicose ulcer of the lower limbs by identifying the conditions which affect it the most. The understanding of the LQS of these patients is a research area which can only be meaningful from a holistic point of view. This project stands on establishing whether or not the social and demographical variables as well as clinical context have a relation with the LQS of patients on patients suffering from varicose ulcer in some municipalities in the District of Viseu. It is a transversal project of quantitative nature, which aims to evaluate the LQS of these patients though a descriptive and analytical process. We used a convenient non probabilistic sample by means of a questionnaire, containing scales and questions enabling us to depict the sample. For a proper treatment of the collected data we used inferential and descriptive statistics. The sample consists of 103 individuals, being 54 female and 49 male with an average age of 66.62 years. We have been able to establish that the LQS is affected by age, pain, functionality within the family and economical condition. Men have a higher LQS, as well as individuals less than 61 years of age. Widowers and individuals with economical conditions of Type I have the highest LQS. 76.70% of the individuals have a higher LQS, contrasting with the 23.30% who have a lower LQS. We have concluded that the variables pain, age, apgar, and grafar are predictor of the patient’s LQS decreasing the influence of each of the stated variables from pain, which is the most influential.
