Abstract(s)
This research project, developed within the scope of the Master's Degree in Psychosocial Intervention with Children and Young People at Risk, aims essentially to understand how the technicians involved in the Commissions for the Protection of Children and Young People (CPCJ) deliberate their decision in the implementation of the Promotion and Protection Measures (MPP) of children or young people facing a dangerous situation. To carry out this research, we chose to carry out a case study in a CPCJ in the central area of the country. A total of 10 judicial judgments on promotion and protection cases were presented to the 10 technicians who were involved. We sought to understand the degree of agreement / disagreement between the measures decreed by the court and the positioning of the professionals interviewed, as well as explore the reasons behind their decision-making. The results do not show differences between the opinions of CPCJ technicians and the decision decreed by the court in one of the cases under analysis. However, in the other case analyzed, there were some discrepancies, based on the personal and family characteristics of the children involved. In both situations, interviewed technicians and courts tended preferentially for measures under placement regime.
