Autoeficácia parental e satisfação com o suporte social em pais com incapacidade

| dc.description.abstract | No quadro das grandes questões sobre as pessoas adultas com incapacidade, constatamos que são escassos os estudos sobre a vida familiar e, especificamente, sobre as potencialidades e dificuldades no exercício da parentalidade, bem como a relevância do suporte social neste domínio. O presente estudo tem como objetivos: i) analisar os níveis de autoeficácia parental e de satisfação com o suporte social em pais com incapacidade; ii) conhecer a relação entre a autoeficácia parental e a satisfação com o suporte social e respetivas dimensões; iii) perceber as diferenças na autoeficácia parental e satisfação com o suporte social, em função do género, estado civil, habilitações literárias e número de filhos. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, não experimental e correlacional e, para o efeito, foi utilizada uma amostra não probabilística e de conveniência, composta por 30 pais com incapacidades sensoriais. Os instrumentos de recolha foram a “Escala de Autoeficácia parental” (Brites, 2010) e a “Escala de Satisfação com o Suporte Social” (Ribeiro, 2011). Os resultados sugerem que os níveis de autoeficácia dos pais e as suas dimensões são mais baixos em comparação com os resultados obtidos em estudos com amostras de pais sem incapacidade. Na satisfação com o suporte social, especificamente, na dimensão Satisfação com os Amigos, foram observadas diferenças estatisticamente significativas, considerando o estado civil e o número de filhos, bem como na escala total do suporte social em função do número de filhos. Conclusões: As análises apresentadas sugerem que esta linha de investigação sobre questões relativas ao direito de uma vida familiar plena necessita de um maior aprofundamento, nomeadamente, conhecer as barreiras e delinear estratégias de apoio socioeducativo para facilitar a autodeterminação das pessoas com incapacidade. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In the scope of the issues regarding adults with disabilities, we verified that the studies about family life, specifically, about the difficulties and potentials on parenthood as well as the relevance of social support in this domain are scarce. This study aims to: i) analyze the levels of parental self-efficacy and the levels of satisfaction with social support on parents with disabilities; ii) know the relation between parental self-efficacy and the satisfaction with social support and respective dimensions; iii) understand the differences between parental self-efficacy and the satisfaction with social support regarding gender, marital status, educational qualifications and number of children. This is a quantitative study, non-experimental and correlational, therefore it was used a sample of convenience and non-probabilistic compound by 30 parents with sensorial disabilities. The tools to collect the data were the “Self- Efficacy Scale” (Brites, 2010) and the “Social support satisfaction scale” (Ribeiro, 2011). The results suggest that the levels of parents’ self-efficacy and their dimensions are lower compared to the results from studies with a sample of parents with no disabilities. On the satisfaction with social support and the dimension of satisfaction with friends it was verified significant statistic differences considering marital status and number of children. Conclusions: The analysis presented suggest that this line of investigation about issues relating to the right to a full family life need a deeper assessment, namely, to know the barriers and plan socio-educational strategies to facilitate the self-determination of people with disabilities. | pt_PT |
