Abstract(s)
As
The main objective of this project was the elaboration and construction of a program to stimulate emotional competences for children with intellectual disabilities. The program has the particularity of being developed for mobile devices through the development of an application (app), since the new technologies tend to make learning more motivating and meaningful, as well as the most attractive and innovative therapeutic sessions, in addition to stimulating the development of children's self-confidence, self-esteem and autonomy. According to Bermejo (2006), there is a great tendency to leave to the background or even to neglect the emotions and the teaching of socially adequate forms for the expression of the same ones of these children, or because one assumes that they are immune to the emotions given their intellectual deficit, or because the inadequate expressions of emotions are seen as part of the deficit. In this way, the developed program took into account the convergent components of the emotional competency models of Mayer and Salovey (1995), Goleman (2010) and Moreira (2009) and aims to promote the development and/or acquisition of the following competencies: development emotional vocabulary; identification and recognition of one's own emotions; acquisition of verbal and non-verbal language as a means of emotional expression; recognition of emotions in others; and relationship management. Considering that the mobile application, an application through which the emotional stimulation program will reach the children, is still in the first phase of life of a software (alpha version), the need to evaluate the usability of the software has appeared. heuristic evaluation (Nielson, 1995) with children (without and with intellectual disability) in the role of specialists, as well as through the method of verbalization of thought and direct observation. The preliminary conclusions are indicative that the mobile application needs several reformulations in terms of the interface structure, so that it becomes increasingly accessible to children who will interact with it.
