- Designing digital platforms in cultural events: a conceptual frameworkPublication . Lobo, Juliana; Antunes, Maria JoãoThe rapid technological development together with the communicational revolution brought therefore the collaborative process in the cyberspace. A consequence it is common for the users nowadays to face the challenge of dealing with a random and disorganized information on the web. Within this context, conceptual models emerge as an explicit form of better interpreting, understanding and simplifying the ideas concerning a specific situation. So, this study aims at presenting a conceptual model focused on the information/memory management of cultural events as a way to enhance their preservation. As a qualitativeapproached study it was based on a documental analysis and on focus group sessions conducted with key stakeholders of a film festival in São Luís do Maranhão, Brazil. Results unveil that in the Brazilian film festivals’ scenario, there is still a lack of recorded information, leading to the difficulty in finding and systematizing relevant information. Thus, the conceptual model purposed bridges a gap in literature by contributing with a context-based alternative to the current technological, preservation of information / memory models.
- Plataformas digitais, cultura audiovisual e memória: os festivais de cinema do Norte e Nordeste do BrasilPublication . Lobo, Juliana; Ramos, Januária Oliveira; Antunes, Maria JoãoThis paper aims at discussing the role of digital platforms in preserving memory and in recording information related to film festivals to users. The study is based on the systematization of film festivals that are held on a regular basis in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil and reviews the integrated digital platforms (websites, Facebook pages, blogs etc.) of each festival. Data analyzed was retrieved from the National Film Agency (ANCINE) and the Kinoforum Guide. Final sample mapped 66 film festivals or exhibitions in all nine states of the Northeast region and 12 events in six states of the North region. Netnography was used as a method to analyze digital environments that host information about the film festivals, considering for that purpose, four categories of analysis: updating content, search resources, types of interaction and elements of memory. The provision of online information demonstrated that digital media is still underutilized by festivals and cinema promoters, mainly due to an elementary use of digital platforms resources.
