A indústria de componentes do sector automóvel, perfeitamente globalizada, assume nos
nossos dias um papel-chave na economia de vários países, apresentando uma expansão notável
nos últimos 50 anos. Os mercados, cada vez mais exigentes no que diz respeito à qualidade e
rapidez de serviço, impõem parâmetros e características operacionais indissociáveis dos
elevados níveis de produtividade, patentes numa economia mundial cada vez mais competitiva.
As empresas que integram este sector industrial são fortemente pressionadas no sentido
da obtenção de sucessivas reduções de custos, em paralelo com a manutenção de elevados
padrões de qualidade.
O desenvolvimento de produtos inovadores, em paralelo com eficientes processos
produtivos, constituem também uma condição primordial na obtenção de uma garantida
notoriedade no mercado, sinónimo de sobrevivência para qualquer empresa do sector.
Este documento pretendeu aprofundar e ligar os conceitos teóricos às práticas
operacionais na empresa Huf Portuguesa, projetando procedimentos dirigidos à obtenção de
melhorias de produtividade pela aplicação do método OPT – Optimized Production Technology.
As melhorias alcançadas permitem concluir que o método OPT pode ter um impacto
positivo no aumento da produtividade de uma empresa.
ABSTRACT: The perfectly globalized component industry in the automotive sector is now playing a key role in the economy of many countries, with a remarkable expansion in the last 50 years. Markets, which are increasingly demanding in terms of quality and speed of service, impose parameters and operational characteristics that are inseparable from the high levels of productivity that are evident in an increasingly competitive world economy. Companies in this industrial sector are strongly pressured to achieve successive cost reductions, in parallel with the maintenance of high quality standards. The development of innovative products, in parallel with efficient production processes, is also a primordial condition in obtaining a guaranteed reputation in the market, synonymous with survival for any company in the sector. This document aimed to deepen and connect the theoretical concepts to the operational practices in the Huf Portuguesa company, designing procedures that aim to achieve productivity improvements by applying the OPT - Optimized Production Technology method. The improvements achieved allow us to conclude that the OPT method can have a positive impact on increasing the productivity of a company.
