Abstract(s)
O presente estudo tem como principal finalidade a investigação do ensino precoce
do inglês, nomeadamente a prática no 3.º ano de escolaridade. Nesse sentido, foi feito
um estudo exploratório, enquadrado num paradigma qualitativo, tendo sido realizadas
observações de aulas de Inglês lecionadas numa turma pertencente a um Agrupamento
de Escolas de Viseu.
O trabalho divide-se em duas partes distintas: as referências às práticas em
contexto de estágio e a investigação científica.
Primeiramente, será feita uma apreciação das práticas em contexto de estágio,
referentes à educação pré-escolar e ao ensino do 1.º CEB, contendo uma caraterização
de cada ambiente educativo e uma análise reflexiva sobre o que lá ocorreu.
A investigação baseou-se na pesquisa documental e recorreu à observação
naturalista e sistemática, a notas de campo e a um diário de bordo. Uma vez concluídas
as observações, foi feita uma análise comparativa dos diversos aspetos observados no
decorrer das aulas, mais especificamente das principais estratégias e metodologias de
ensino utilizadas quanto ao Ensino do inglês como língua estrangeira a crianças desta
faixa etária.
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the teaching of English to young learners, namely its practice with 3rd grade classes. In this sense, an exploratory study was developed, complying to a qualitative paradigm, involving the observation of lessons in one of the classes in Agrupamento de Escolas Grão Vasco, Viseu. The study is divided into two distinct parts: references to the practices in a training environment and scientific research. Firstly, an appreciation of practices in the context of traineeship will be undertaken, pertaining to preschool education and to teaching the 1st cycle classes, comprising a characterisation of each educational environment and a reflective analysis of what occurred. The investigation was based on documental research and relied on naturalistic and systematic observation, field notes and a “log”. Once the observations were completed, a comparative analysis was made of the different aspects observed during the lessons, specifically the main teaching strategies and methodologies used to teach English as a foreign language to children of this age group.
