Abstract(s)
Objetivo: Este artigo pretende descrever e comparar a perceção da qualidade de
vida das pessoas insuficientes renais crónicas terminais submetidas a hemodiálise.
Métodos: Foi desenvolvido um estudo descritivo, quantitativo e transversal,
utilizando como instrumento de colheita de dados o KDQOL-SF constituído por uma medida
genérica de saúde – o SF-36 e uma especifica deste quadro clínico – o ESRD, numa
amostra de 109 pessoas hemodialisadas na Diaverum – Unidade de Aveiro. As respostas
foram avaliadas em 19 dimensões.
Resultados: Dos participantes estudados, a maioria era do sexo masculino (58,7%),
com idade superior a 55 anos (54,1%), casados (72,5%), reformados / pensionistas /
desempregados (75,3%) e com um nível de instrução correspondente à 4ª classe ou inferior
(56%).A maior parte dos doentes teve uma admissão ao tratamento programada (82,6%),
apresentam complicações relacionadas com a hemodiálise (88%) e não sabem ou não
respondem sobre a etiologia da IRC (70%).
Conclusão: As dimensões que mais interferem na qualidade de vida destas
pessoas, permitem refletir sobre a necessidade de intervenções mais planeadas, otimizando
os cuidados prestados, permitindo um viver com mais qualidade.

ABSTRACT Objective: This paper aims to describe and compare the perception of quality of life of terminal chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis. Methods: We developed a descriptive study, quantitative and cross, using as an instrument of data collection the KDQOL-SF consists of a generic measure of health - the SF-36 and a specific clinical picture of this - the ESRD, a sample of 109 people undergoing hemodialysis treatment in Diaverum - Unit of Aveiro. The responses were evaluated in 19 dimensions. Results: Of the study participants, most were male (58,7%), aged 55 years and over (54,1%), married (72,5%), retired / pensioners / unemployed (75,3%) and a corresponding level of education the 4th grade or less (56%). Most patients have an admission to the treatment schedule (82,6%) present complications related to the hemodialysis (88%) and does not know the etiology of CRF (70%). Conclusion: The dimensions that most affect the quality of life of these people, let consider the need for more planned interventions, optimizing the care provided, enabling a higher quality living.
