Abstract(s)
This Final Internship Report is divided into two parts. The first part consists of a critical reflection on the educational practices developed in the context of the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education, based on the Teaching Performance Standards contained in Order No. 16034/2010, of October 22. The second part presents the research work entitled “Children's literature and emotions: a case study”, which aims to explore how children's literature, when mediated in an intentional and sensitive way, can be an effective tool for developing various skills in children. This is a qualitative approach, with a case study as its methodological reference. The data was collected through direct observation, the analysis of questionnaire surveys and the interpretation of the drawings made by the students. The study focused on two main objectives: to understand how the creation of a “literary space” in the classroom can contribute to understanding the role played by emotions in students' enjoyment of reading, and to analyze how reading and writing practices can foster students' understanding of emotions. The results show that creating a dedicated reading space can foster a more inclusive and emotionally aware environment. The selected literary works allowed children to better understand their emotions and develop empathy, understanding the consequences of their actions on others.
