Abstract(s)
A literatura tem demonstrado que os pais/ cuidadores têm a grande responsabilidade de promover, orientar, educar os seus filhos. Ao conjunto de valores e atitudes que os pais/cuidadores têm em relação aos filhos chamamos de estilos educativos parentais, estes que têm uma influência clara no desenvolvimento da criança/jovem. Atualmente existindo cada vez mais consciência do valor das crianças, é útil que hajam programas de educação parental, onde os pais ou cuidadores têm a possibilidade de adquirir conhecimentos específicos e estratégias que vão ajudar a promover o desenvolvimento, a qualidade de vida e bem-estar da criança/jovem. Nesta investigação, a qualidade de vida e os estilos educativos parentais não apresentaram diferenças significativas quanto às suas variáveis independentes, porém existem correlações significativas entre a qualidade de vida e os estilos educativos parentais, indo desta maneira ao encontro da literatura cientifica.
ABSTRACT: The literature has shown that parents / carers have a great responsibility to promote, guide and educate their children. the set of values and attitudes that parents / carers have towards children call parental educational styles, which have a clear influence on development of children / youth. Currently progressively value-os education programs parents, parents or carers have a chance to acquire knowledge and specific strategies that will help one promote development, quality of life and welfare of the child / youth. This study aims to examine how relationships between parenting styles and quality of life in children / youth, exploring still the relevance of sociodemographic variables. Resorted to a sample of 30 children / young people, between 7 and 16 years, que met the following instruments: kindl (Ferreira et al, 2006), embu-c (Canavarro & Pereira, 2007) and embu a ( Lacerda, 2005). The quality of life and parental educational styles not show significant differences in function of the independent variables considered (gender and persons with whom a child / young lives), however there were significant correlations between the quality of life and age well as between that and the educational styles parenting, going this way to the meeting of literature.
