Metodologia: Scoping review realizada conforme as recomendações do Joanna Briggs Institute.

Abstract Introduction: Growing cultural diversity poses new challenges to the professional practice of the Family Nurse, particularly in caring for immigrant families. These families face multiple barriers in accessing and using health services, which requires Nurses to respond in a culturally competent, sensitive and individual- and family-centered way. Objective: To map the scientific evidence on the challenges faced by Family Nurse in caring for immigrant families in a Primary Healthcare setting. Methodology: Scoping review carried out according to the recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute. The search was carried out in the PubMed, CINAHL Complete, Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive, MEDLINE Complete, B-On, Web of Science and Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal. The studies identified were organized in Rayyan®. Studies published in Portuguese, Spanish and English and with no time limit were included. Of the 1383 eligible studies, 13 were included in the review. Results: Two themes emerged from the analysis of the studies: barriers to transcultural Nursing care (language barrier; cultural, religious and social barrier; ethnocentric approach of Nurses; lack of knowledge of legislation associated with access to healthcare by Nurses; low cultural competence of Nurses and lack of human and material resources) and facilitating factors for transcultural Nursing care (communication skills; interpersonal Nurse-family relationship; family-oriented Nursing practices; development of cultural competencies in Nursing; positive view of immigration; documenting the care provided in computerized systems and the presence of culturally receptive health institutions). Conclusion: Providing culturally competent care to immigrant families represents a growing challenge for the Family Nurse. It is essential to invest in continuous training in transcultural Nursing and in creating inclusive and culturally sensitive care environments. Keywords: Emigrants and Immigrants; Family; Family Nursing; Transcultural Nursing; Primary Health Care.
