Conclusion: Critical reflection on practice leads to the development of competencies, technical knowledge, and expertise in making prompt decisions. There is a need to raise awareness among emergency department nurses about the importance and applicability of the NEWS2 scale, as well as to strengthen nurses’ autonomy and their key role in the clinical decision-making process, valuing their contribution to patients’ therapeutic pathways. Keywords: nurse; medical-surgical nursing; emergency department; National Early Warning Score 2.
