Abstract(s)
do turismo.
estabilidade do sistema.
ABSTRACT: In Cabo Verde, the objectives of the “Sustainable Energy for All initiative” (SE4ALL) are perfectly aligned with the strategies developed for the energy sector and with the role it will play in the country's development. In recent years, Cape Verde's economy has been growing steadily, becoming service-oriented and mainly by the tourism sector. In this scenario, targets were set for the promotion of renewable energy sources (RES) in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce dependence on energy imports. Despite the advantages of integrating RES in power systems, their variability and uncertainty raise important questions related to the operation of the electrical system. As a result, system operators need to take action to balance ever more volatile power generation with demand, and to maintain system stability. To this end, it is extremely important to choose the most appropriate storage technologies as well as their location in the network (Ilha do Sal - object of study), so that it meets the established targets of renewable energy in the way that system operators, can make it efficient. The investment in the storage solutions presented by the applied multi-objective (losses and investment) genetic algorithm, shows that the correct sizing and location of storage technologies in the electrical network, presents good advantages. These advantages are related to the increase of the energy efficiency of the electrical systems, the reduction of the environmental impacts, the increase of the reliability, greater use of production using RES and avoided investments in the reinforcement of the networks.
