Abstract(s)

Abstract Introduction: High blood pressure is a clinical condition that can lead to serious complications, such as heart disease and stroke, challenging structured nursing interaction. Objectives: To map the scientific evidence related to nursing interventions in hypertension within the context of primary healthcare. Methods: The method used in this research was a scoping review guided by the PCC (population, concept, and context) research strategy. The use of Rayyan was necessary, involving one independent reviewer who assessed the relevance of the articles. For this scoping review, articles written in English, Portuguese, or Spanish and published between 2021 and 2024 were considered, sourced from the databases PubMed, CINAHL, and LILACS. After searching with the MeSH descriptors nurse, primary health care, and hypertension, five articles were selected that analyse intervention strategies within families, such as the hypertensive health promotion programme. Results: The results indicate that an educational strategy adapted to the cultural and social realities of patients is effective in promoting self-care, improving treatment adherence, and preventing complications. These contributions reinforce the central role of nursing in primary care for managing hypertension, employing personalised educational strategies to enhance clinical outcomes and overall patient well-being. Implementing epidemiological approaches centred on nursing diagnoses can improve hypertension control and inform more effective public health policies. Conclusion: Despite the advances, there are barriers, such as initial resistance from some patients to change and limitations in access to resources to support continuous care. Nursing diagnoses and continuous follow-up are essential to improve the control of arterial hypertension. This process contributes to increased self-care and self-efficacy, empowering individuals to adopt healthy behaviors in the areas of diet, medication management, and physical activity. Keywords: Primary healthcare; family; hypertension
