Abstract(s)

Abstract In Nursing, dynamism and competitiveness are increasingly frequent inputs in daily practice, demanding more and better from professionals, in favor of the quality of care. Each individual conduct appears, however, to be related to training needs, adequacy of communication processes, leadership and conflict mediation. This report aims to document the acquisition of skills in this paradigm, in the context of clinical practice for the Person in critical situation, describing purposes, objectives and activities carried out in the context of tutored professional internship, in an emergency service and in an intensive care unit. It is the result of reflection, based on identified problems, analysis according to critical judgment, and reasoning according to the evidence of other authors, and their recent recommendations, for a culture of health safety. It culminates in a primary research study, aiming at the construction and validation of a measurement instrument, the ECETIS scale, following recent scientific evidence on effective communication. Through a non-probabilistic sample, obtained by snowball technique, it constitutes a quantitative, analytical and transversal research project. It demonstrates the distribution of socio-demographic, academic and professional characteristics, and their significance, in relation to the effectiveness of communication and safe information transmission for nurses in the context of handoff and handover. It infers positive conclusions regarding the validity and reliability of the scale, which was ultimately reduced to 22 statements, organized into five dimensions with good internal consistency (>.60). revealing high potential for use in future research. Key words: Communicational competence; Emergency Nursing; Quality of Care; Care Transitions; ISBAR
