Abstract(s)

E-portfolios are potential both for evaluation and for parental/family involvement in early childhood practices. Regular portfolios are highly valued in authentic assessment of children but electronic portfolios (E-Portfolios) are a new phenomenon in early childhood education and there is minimal existing research available on their use and effectiveness as a learning and communication tool in early childhood education. In this study, three highly experienced early childhood teachers from a small city were interviewed about their perspectives on e-portfolios. All teachers considered the eportfolio has strong advantages for early childhood evaluation practices but some obstacles were also mentioned.
