Introdução: A realização deste Relatório de Estágio enquadra-se no âmbito do Curso de Pós
– Licenciatura de Especialização em Enfermagem Médico – Cirúrgica e do Mestrado em
Enfermagem Médico- Cirúrgica da Escola Superior de Saúde de Viseu e, tem como objetivo
descrever, fundamentar e analisar as atividades desenvolvidas, ao longo dos estágios do
Serviço de Urgência e Unidade de Cuidados Intensivos, e que contribuíram para a aquisição
das competências comuns do enfermeiro especialista e para a aquisição das competências
específicas do enfermeiro em Enfermagem Médico – Cirúrgica na área de Enfermagem à
Pessoa em Situação Crítica. No contexto deste relatório final, surge a realização de um estudo
de investigação, baseado na prática clínica numa área de especial interesse e motivação, que
engloba o doente crítico do foro neurológico e o conhecimento dos enfermeiros na aplicação
da Escala Rapid Arterial Occlusion Evaluation (RACE) no pré-hospitalar.
Objetivo: Adquirir competências na área de Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, mais
especificamente na área de Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Crítica.
Métodos: Realização de Estágios na área de Urgência Polivalente e Cuidados Intensivos.
Resultados: Através da realização de estágios na área da Enfermagem à Pessoa em
Situação Crítica, em urgência e cuidados intensivos, realização de pesquisa e fundamentação
teórica da prática clínica é possível adquirir competências de Enfermeiro Especialista em
Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica. Sendo uma área abrangente e sendo o doente crítico o
principal foco de intervenção neste âmbito, demonstrou-se a necessidade de aliar ao
conhecimento teórico esta fundamentação mais prática. As áreas de urgência e cuidados
intensivos são áreas mais abrangentes e específicas, respetivamente, que tornam possível
cumprir os objetivos estabelecidos inicialmente.
Conclusão: Denota-se a aquisição de competências como Enfermeiro Especialista na área
de Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica na Pessoa em Situação Crítica, no entanto, esta busca de
conhecimento atualizado é uma necessidade constante.

Abstract Introduction: This Internship Report falls within the command of Post - Degree in Specialization in Medical - Surgical Nursing and the Master's Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing at the Superior School of Nursing of Viseu, and aims to describe, substantiate and analyse the activities developed during the internships of Emergency Service and Intensive Care Unit and which contributed to the acquisition of common skills of critical nurse specialists and to the acquisition of specific skills in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the area of Nursing for the Person in Critical situation. This final report lead to a research study based on clinical practice in an area of special interest and motivation, which embraces the critically ill neurological patient and the knowledge of nurses in the application of the Rapid Arterial Occlusion Evaluation (RACE) scale in the pre-hospital care. Objective: Acquire skills in the area of Medical-Surgical Nursing, more specifically in the area of Nursing for Persons in Critical Situation. Methods: Internships in the area of Multipurpose Urgency and Intensive Care. Results: Through internships in the area of Nursing for Persons in Critical Situation, in urgency and intensive care, conducting research and theoretical foundation of clinical practice, it is possible to acquire the skills of a Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing. As a comprehensive area and the critically ill being the main focus of intervention in this area, the need to combine this more practical foundation with theoretical knowledge was demonstrated. The emergency and intensive care areas are more comprehensive and specific areas, respectively, which make it possible to meet the goals initially established Conclusion: It denotes the acquisition of competences as a Specialist Nurse in the area of Medical-Surgical Nursing for Persons in Critical Situation, however, this search for updated knowledge is a constant need Key-words: Specialist Nurse; Person in Critical Situation; Skills; Stroke.
