RESUMO
Numa época em que a informação circula a um ritmo exponencial nas
plataformas digitais e, configurando-se estes meios como uma forma da
Comunicação Social ultrapassar as graves dificuldades financeiras atuais, é
importante saber de que forma a imprensa regional e as rádios locais,
potenciam estas novas ferramentas junto dos leitores, anunciantes e
investidores. A disponibilização da informação nas redes sociais assume,
igualmente, uma importância cada vez mais relevante, considerando o número
crescente de consumidores/leitores que têm o primeiro contacto com a
informação através do Facebook, Twitter, Blogs e outras ferramentas online.
A presente investigação, avalia a presença na internet e de que forma os
jornais e rádio locais otimizam a informação online para captarem mais público
e gerarem mais receitas. Perante a popularidade, junto dos consumidores, dos
dispositivos móveis, avaliamos de que forma os conteúdos são disponibilizados
para smartphones e tabletes.
Os resultados do estudo demonstraram que uma grande maioria dos
jornais regionais e das rádios locais da região de Viseu têm uma presença
significativa na internet através de páginas próprias ou utilizando as redes
sociais. A atualização dos conteúdos, colocados na internet, é feita
principalmente através do Facebook. A maioria dos órgãos do comunicação
social que atualizam, com regularidade, os conteúdos online fazem-no durante
a semana de segunda a sexta-feira. É residual o número de jornais e rádios do
distrito de Viseu que produzem conteúdos específicos para a internet. São
também muitos poucos os que disponibilizam aplicações especificas para que
a informação possa ser mais facilmente consultada em dispositivos móveis.
ABSTRACT In an era when information travels at an exponential rate and on digital platforms, setting up these media as a form of social communication to overcome the current severe financial difficulties, it is important to know how the local press and local radio potentiate these new tools with the readers, advertisers and investors. The availability of information in social networks also assume an increasingly great importance considering the growing number of consumers / readers who have first contact with the information through Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and other online tools. This research evaluates the presence on the Internet and how local newspapers and radio otimize information online to capture more audience and generate more revenue. Given the popularity of consumer, mobile devices, we evaluated how the contents are made available for smartphones and tablets. The results of the study showed that a large majority of regional newspapers and local radio stations in Viseu region have a significant presence on the Internet through their own or using social networking pages. The update of content placed on the Internet, is made mainly through Facebook. Most of the organs of social communication that update on a regular basis, online content make it during the week from Monday to Friday. It is the residual number of newspapers and Viseu district radios that produce specific content for the internet. They are also very few who offer specific applications so that information can be more easily accessed on mobile devices.
