Introdução ā A sĆndrome de burnout Ć© um tipo de estresse ocupacional que
acomete profissionais envolvidos com qualquer tipo de cuidado em uma relação de
atenção direta, contĆnua e altamente emocional (MASLACH, 1993). O trabalho do
Personal Trainer, favorece o desenvolvimento da sĆndrome de burnout, pois os
mesmos têm relação estreita com seus clientes, podendo causar o adoecimento
deste profissional. Deste modo, os mesmos merecem atenção por desenvolverem
diversas funƧƵes no cotidiano de suas atividades de trabalho relacionadas
aos fatores biopsicossociais, como a qualidade de vida (QV) que Ć© um importante
aspecto a ser considerado na promoção de saúde destes profissionais.
Deste modo, o objetivo central consiste em estudar determinantes de contexto sóciodemogrÔfico,
laboral e biopsicossocial da sĆndrome de burnout em personal trainers
da cidade de Maceió-AL.
MƩtodos - Este estudo Ʃ de natureza quantitativa, descritivo-correlacional e
transversal, com recurso a uma amostra nĆ£o probabilĆstica, acidental e por
conveniĆŖncia, composta por 100 (cem) personal trainers, com idades entre os 22 -
47 anos (š„Ģ
= 31,9; Dp= ±5,4), maioritariamente do sexo masculino (65,0%), solteiros
(65%), licenciatura (60%). O instrumento de colheita de dados incorporou: Ficha
SociodemogrĆ”fica: caracterização sócioādemogrĆ”fica e laboral da amostra; o
Maslach Burnout Inventory ā General Survey (MBI-GS), QuestionĆ”rio de Avaliação
da Qualidade de Vida no Trabalho ā QWLQ-78.
Resultados ā Estes personal trainers tendo por referĆŖncia o escore mĆ©dio,
apresentam para as dimensƵes āexaustĆ£o emocional e fĆsicaā e ācinismoā, nĆveis de
burnout elevado. JĆ” no que respeita Ć dimensĆ£o āeficĆ”cia profissionalā os valores da
mĆ©dia da nossa amostra ao serem ā„5.00 , significa que para esta dimensĆ£o os
inquiridos nĆ£o evidenciam nĆveis de burnout. No que diz respeito a qualidade de
vida, observou-se que (90%) é neutro e (10%) satisfatório, ou seja, nenhum
inquerido apresentou nĆveis baixos ou elevados. Os principais determinantes
laborais para a burnout: 1 a 5 anos de profissão; maior tempo de atuação; maior
numero dos locais de trabalho; trabalhar acima de 30 horas semanais. Os resultados
averiguaram que quanto maior o nĆvel de QV, menor o nĆvel de burnout.
ConclusƵes ā Os resultados revelaram a existĆŖncia de fatores determinantes da
sĆndrome de burnout em personal trainers, daĆ a importĆ¢ncia duma abordagem
multidisciplinar, acompanhamento e orientação especĆfica a estes profissionais,
realƧando a necessidade de aumentar o Ćndice de saĆŗde e qualidade de vida, de
forma a prevenir quadros de sobrecarga biopsicossocial destas pessoas, para
poderem assim proporcionar, com segurança, a promoção da saúde de seus
clientes. Certamente, a Educação para Saúde terÔ aqui um importante papel a
fomentar e a desenvolver.

ABSTRACT Introduction - Burnout syndrome is a kind of occupational stress that affects professionals involved in any kind of care in a relationship of direct attention , continuous and highly emotional ( Maslach , 1993). The work of Personal Trainer , favors the development of burnout syndrome , as they have close relationship with its customers and may cause illness this professional. Thus , they deserve attention for developing various functions in their daily work activities related to biopsychosocial factors such as quality of life (QOL ) is an important aspect to be considered in the promotion of health of these professionals. Thus, the main objective is to study determinants of socio- demographic , labor and biopsychosocial context of burnout syndrome in personal trainers of Maceió -AL . Methods - his study is a quantitative , descriptive and correlational and cross-cutting nature , using a non- probabilistic sample , accidental and convenience , consisting of one hundred (100 ) personal trainers , aged 22-47 years ( š„Ģ = 31.9 ; SD = ± 5.4 ) , mostly male ( 65.0 %), single (65%) , degree ( 60%). The data collection instrument incorporated : Sociodemographic Profile : socio- demographic and occupational characteristics of the sample ; the Maslach Burnout Inventory - General Survey ( MBI -GS ) , Quality Assessment Questionnaire of Life at Work - QWLQ -78 . Results - These personal trainers with reference to the average score , present to the dimensions " emotional and physical exhaustion " and " cynicism " of high burnout levels. However, with respect to the size " professional effectiveness " average values of our sample to be ā„5.00 , means that for this dimension respondents did not show levels of burnout . As regards the quality of life , it was observed that (90 %) is neutral (10% ) satisfactory, i.e. , no inquerido presented low or high. The main labor determinants of burnout : 1 to 5 years of profession ; longer acting ; greater number of workplaces ; work above 30 hours per week. The results ascertained that the higher the level of QOL , the lower the level of burnout. Conclusions: The results revealed the existence of determinants of burnout in personal trainers , hence the importance of a multidisciplinary approach , monitoring and specific guidance to these professionals , highlighting the need to increase the health index and quality of life , in order to prevent frames biopsychosocial burden of these people , in order to thus provide with security , the promotion of health of its customers.
