As famílias com filhos com Necessidades de Saúde Especiais enfrentam várias dificuldades e barreiras no seu quotidiano, podendo apresentar níveis mais elevados de stress, mas também se podem verificar contributos positivos para a família. A presente investigação enquadra-se na metodologia quantitativa e tem como objetivo analisar o impacto da existência de um filho com Perturbação do Espetro do Autismo na dinâmica familiar, analisando, por um lado, o stress parental e, por outro, eventuais contribuições positivas para a família, explorando a relevância de variáveis sociodemográficas dos pais/mães, familiares e da criança com PEA neste âmbito. Na recolha de dados foram utilizados os seguintes instrumentos: Escala de Stress Parental Escala de Impacto Familiar e a Escala de Contribuições Positivas e um questionário sociodemográfico. Participaram neste estudo 30 pais/mães/cuidadores. Recorreu-se ao SPSS – IBM 27 para a análise de dados, adotando-se um grau de confiança de 95% nos testes não paramétricos realizados. De forma geral, os resultados demonstraram que o nascimento de um filho com esta perturbação tem impacto na dinâmica familiar, sendo que se verificou a relevância de variáveis como o género, idade e dificuldades da criança, bem como a idade dos pais/mães, quer ao nível do stress parental, quer das contribuições positivas, possibilitando a reflexão sobre implicações para a intervenção neste âmbito.
Families with children with special health needs face various difficulties and barriers in their daily lives, and may have higher levels of stress, but positive contributions to the family can also be verified. This investigation is part of the quantitative methodology and aims to analyse the impact of the existence of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder in family dynamics, analysing, on the one hand, parental stress and, on the other hand, possible positive contributions to the family, exploring the relevance of sociodemographic variables of fathers/mothers, family members and children with ASD in this context. The following instruments were used in the data collection: Parental Stress Scale, Family Impact Scale and Positive Contributions Scale and a sociodemographic questionnaire. Thirty fathers/mothers/caregivers participated in this study. The SPSS - IBM 27 was used for data analysis, adopting a 95% degree of confidence in the nonparametric tests performed. In general, the results showed that the birth of a child with this disorder has an impact on family dynamics, and the relevance of variables such as gender, age and difficulties of the child, as well as the age of the fathers/mothers, both at the level of parental stress and positive contributions, enabling reflection on implications for the intervention in this context was verified.
