Abstract(s)
a segurança e a sustentabilidade.
The present Internship Report focuses on the "Expansion and Partial Renovation of the Seminário Menor de Resende," addressing occupational health and safety as well as environmental management within the context of civil construction. The internship was carried out at RIPORTICO Applus+, the entity responsible for overseeing and coordinating safety during the execution of the project. The report highlights the importance of implementing effective management systems that integrate worker safety and environmental sustainability. It emphasizes the need for a proactive approach to safety coordination that goes beyond legal compliance, fostering a genuine safety culture among all stakeholders involved in the construction process. The applied methodology is based on a detailed analysis of relevant legislation, particularly Decree-Law No. 273/2003 and Decree-Law No. 102-D/2020, as well as the use of specific techniques and tools to monitor and assess workplace safety. Through a case study, the challenges encountered and lessons learned are discussed, highlighting the importance of clear communication and strict supervision in preventing accidents. The results demonstrate that safety coordination is essential not only to protect workers but also to ensure the normal execution of activities and to minimize the environmental impacts associated with construction. The Internship Report concludes with recommendations for the continuous improvement of occupational safety and health practices in the construction sector in Portugal, proposing measures that simultaneously promote safety and sustainability. In summary, this Internship Report contributes to a deeper understanding of safety coordination in construction projects, offering valuable insights for professional practice and future research in this field.
