This project proposes the development of a proof-of-concept for an animal monitoring system in open agricultural spaces, using LoRaWAN technology. The objective is to design a low-cost, long-range and more autonomous solution capable of providing real-time data on the location and health status of animals, namely body temperature. The system integrates temperature sensors, GPS modules, and LoRa communication, with the data being transmitted to a database and visualized in a responsive interface, in this case Node-RED. The application also allows the configuration of virtual fences and the sending of alerts in case of anomalies, taking advantage of the concept of shared virtual fences. The results demonstrate the viability of the proposed solution for remote environments, with the potential to be applied on a large scale in precision livestock farming.
