| dc.description.abstract | Enquadramento: O suporte social Ă© um fator relevante no estabelecimento de laços afetivos, uma vez que se refere Ă existĂȘncia e Ă qualidade de relaçÔes sociais em geral ou em particular, Ă s relaçÔes familiares e de amizade. Este, tem sido apontado como principal variĂĄvel psicossocial envolvida na adaptação Ă parentalidade e, por inerĂȘncia, ao desenvolvimento do bonding entre pai e bebĂ©. Objetivos: Este estudo procura estabelecer a relação entre as variĂĄveis sĂłcio-demogrĂĄficas, obstĂ©tricas, envolvimento do pai na gravidez, trabalho de parto/parto e suporte social com o bonding. MĂ©todo: Trata-se de um estudo transversal, descritivo-correlacional, de natureza quantitativa, no qual participaram 349 pais, com idades entre os 19 e os 55 anos, sendo a mĂ©dia, 31,84 anos, com o desvio padrĂŁo de 6,067 Para a mensuração das variĂĄveis utilizaram-se instrumentos de medida, de reconhecida fiabilidade, aferidos e validados para a população portuguesa: Escala de Satisfação com o Suporte Social (Ribeiro, 1999) e Escala de Bonding (Figueiredo et al., 2005). Foram tambĂ©m aplicados questionĂĄrios de caracterização sociodemogrĂĄfica, obstĂ©trica e envolvimento do pai na gravidez, trabalho de parto e parto. Resultados: Os resultados demonstram que o bonding positivo Ă© influenciado pela idade (p=0,010), habilitaçÔes literĂĄrias (p=0,045), ser primeiro filho (p=0,027), comunicação com o feto (p=0,005), presença no trabalho de parto (p=0,045). Relativamente ao suporte social: - bonding positivo e âsatisfação com os amigosâ (p=0,011); - bonding negativo e âintimidadesâ (p=0,011); - bonding total e âsatisfação com a famĂliaâ (p=0,001). ConclusĂŁo: Perante estes dados, o papel dos enfermeiros especialistas em saĂșde materna assume-se como primordial, devendo envolver o pai desde o inĂcio da gravidez. Dada a importĂąncia que o suporte social assume no estabelecimento do bonding, Ă© imprescindĂvel que os profissionais de saĂșde apoiem e integrem o pai no processo de adaptação Ă parentalidade. Palavras-chave: Pai; BebĂ©; Trabalho de Parto; Parto; Bonding; Suporte Social ABSTRACT Background: One of the important factors in the establishment of bonding between parent and baby is social support. This factor is associated to the existence and quality of social relations, marital relations and friendship. This has been pointed out as the main psychosocial variable involved in adaptation to parenthood and thus also important in the development of bonding between parent and baby. Objective: The central problem of this empirical study is to investigate the influence of socio-demographic, obstetric, father involvement in pregnancy, labor/delivery and social support, with the bonding. Methods: This study is a cross-sectional study, correlational descriptive, quantitative, attended by 349 parents, aged between 19 and 55, with an average age of 31,84, with the standard deviation of 6,067. To evaluate variables, instruments of recognized reliability were used, measured and validated for the Portuguese population: satisfaction scale with the social support and bonding scale. Questionnaires were also applied in what concerns social-demographic, obstetric and father involvement in pregnancy, labor and delivery, providing a reliable sample characterization. Results: This study reveals that positive bonding is influenced by age (p=0,010), qualifications (p=0,045), first child (p=0,027), communication with fetus (p=0,005) and be present during labor (p=0,045). Regarding to social support: - Positive bonding and "satisfaction with friends" (p=0,011); - Negative bonding and "intimacies" (p=0,011); - Total bonding and "family satisfaction" (p=0,001). Conclusion: The data undoubtedly show the importance of nurse specialists in maternal health who must involve the father since the beginning of pregnancy. Since social support is key to bonding, it is essential that health professionals support and integrate the father in the adjustement process to parenthood.
