orotraqueal – scoping review.
Resultados: Os Estágio permitiram desenvolver as competências em várias áreas e
consolidar conhecimentos retidos no ensino teórico.

Abstract: Introduction: As average life expectancy increases, so does the prevalence of associated comorbidities, making it increasingly important to have specialized nurses in various healthcare settings. This report was prepared based on experiences in the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit. Objective: This report consists of a reflective analysis aimed at describing the training process in the two internship settings, as well as analyzing the development of common and specific competencies for nurses specializing in this field. Methods: This report is divided into an initial critical analysis based on experiences in clinical training settings, grounded in direct observation of clinical practice, active participation in complex care, and consultation of standards, protocols, and scientific evidence, with reference to the common and specific competencies of the specialist nurse as described by the Portuguese Nursing Association. Subsequently, a study is presented regarding nursing interventions in the prevention of complications associated with the orotracheal tube—a scoping review. Results: The internships allowed for the development of competencies in various areas and the consolidation of knowledge acquired through theoretical instruction. The research component, meanwhile, facilitated the selective use of databases for research purposes. Conclusion: This experience was challenging and enriching, and its objectives were to consolidate the essential skills required for nursing patients in critical condition. In the research component, I identified interventions related to the care provided for orotracheal tubes with the aim of delivering high-quality care to prevent complications. Keywords: Intensive Care Units; Emergency Care; Nurse Specialists.
