ABSTRACT The Project “Colour to Act” intended to develop a set of activities with intervention characteristics with a group of students from the Grouping of Schools of Valongo do Vouga, in Águeda. This project’s aim was to alert for the growing problem of violence in School context and contribute for prevention and diminution of aggressive practices in children within school age, trying to value harmonious coexistence between peers. Conciliating non formal education with arts, it was designed and implemented an intervention program in which, plastic arts activities were developed. These activities had culminated with the building of a giant painted wall in the exterior of the Institution, which remained as a symbol of non violence in school and of education for peace. It was through ludic activities that the target audience was sensitized, creating, simultaneously, interaction, an active participation, experience exchanges and, most of all, the opportunity for children to be protagonists in the process to fortifying peace. This work made possible, not only to realize the presence of violence within schools, but also to realize that children are perfectly aware of what actions are necessary to do in order to reverse this scenery. We may, as well, verify that the participants became more sensitized for the participation in artistic projects, which have as main instrument non formal education and education through arts.
