Abstract(s)
Enquadramento: O afecto materno é uma relação emocional única, específica e duradoura,
que se estabelece de um modo gradual, desde os primeiros contactos entre a mãe e o bebé,
traduzindo-se num processo de adaptação mútuo, no qual, mãe e bebé, participam
activamente.
Objectivos: Determinar se as variáveis sociodemográficas têm impacto no afeto materno;
Avaliar a influência das variáveis obstétricas no afecto materno; Verificar o impacto que o
aleitamento materno tem no afecto materno; Verificar se o contacto pele a pele na 1ª hora
de vida e a alojamento conjunto influenciam o afecto materno.
Métodos: Estudo de natureza quantitativa, transversal, de carácter descritivo-correlacional e
explicativo, sendo a amostra não probabilística por conveniência (n=312). A recolha de
dados efectuou-se através de um questionário, que se divide em duas partes. A primeira faz
a caracterização sociodemográfica, obstétrica, do aleitamento materno e variáveis da díada.
A segunda inclui o inventário de afecto materno e a escala de atitudes maternas face à
amamentação. Este instrumento de colheita de dados foi aplicado às mães na consulta de
saúde infantil dos 2 anos de idade.
Resultados: Verificou-se que a escolaridade materna (p=0,010), a escolaridade paterna
(p=0,006) a experiência anterior de amamentação (p=0,025) a introdução da chupeta
(p=0,035) e o comportamento (componente das atitudes face a amamentação p=0,006) tem
poder explicativo sobre o afecto materno sendo que só este último apresentou poder
preditivo.
Conclusão: Os profissionais de saúde devem potenciar o processo pelo qual as mães se
ligam ao bebé, respeitarem os caminhos que conduzem ao envolvimento emocional e
aumentam os ganhos em saúde.

ABSTRACT Introduction: The maternal affection is an emotional one, specific and durable, which is established in a gradual manner, from the first contact between mother and baby, resulting in a process of mutual adaptation, in which the mother and baby, participate actively. Objectives: Determine whether sociodemographic variables have an impact on maternal affection; evaluate the influence of obstetric variables in affection breast; verify the impact that breastfeeding has in affect breast; Check if the contact skin to skin in the 1st hour of birth and rooming influence maternal affection. Methods: Study of quantitative, cross-sectional and correlational descriptive characterexplanatory, being a non-probabilistic sample of convenience (n = 312). Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire, which is divided into two parts. The first makes characterization socio-demographic, obstetric, and breastfeeding dyad variables. The second includes the inventory of maternal affection and scale of attitudes to breastfeeding mother’s face. This data collection instrument was administered to the mother’s health consultation in child 2 years of age. Results: It was found that maternal education (p = 0.010), paternal education (p = 0.006) previous experience of breastfeeding (p = 0.025) the introduction of a pacifier (p = 0.035) and behavior (component of attitudes towards breastfeeding p = 0.006) has explanatory power on maternal affection being that only the latter showed predictive power. Conclusion: Health professionals should enhance the process by which mothers bind to the baby, respect the paths that lead to emotional involvement and increase health gains.
