Resumo(s)
Introdução: O presente relatório surge no âmbito do plano de estudos do Curso de Mestrado
em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica na área da Enfermagem em Pessoa em Situação Crítica, da
Escola Superior de Saúde de Viseu e, tem como objetivo, descrever, fundamentar e analisar o
percurso desenvolvido ao longo dos estágios, no contexto de Urgência e Cuidados Intensivos,
ao qual contribuiu para a aquisição de competências comuns e específicas do enfermeiro
especialista em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica na área da Enfermagem em Pessoa em Situação
Crítica. No âmbito deste relatório final, inclui-se ainda a realização de um estudo de investigação, sustentado na prática clínica, numa área de particular interesse: “Predição de Acesso Venoso Difícil em Adultos: Aplicação da Escala A-DIVA num Serviço de Urgência Português”.
Objetivo: Refletir acerca das competências do enfermeiro especialista em Enfermagem Médico-cirúrgica na área de Enfermagem em Pessoa em Situação Crítica adquiridas.
Apresentar os resultados de um estudo de investigação.
Métodos: Análise crítico reflexiva das atividades desenvolvidas durante os estágios no Serviço
de Urgência e na Unidade Cuidados Intensivos Polivalente, de uma Unidade Local de Saúde.
Resultados: No contexto do percurso académico, além das diferentes unidades curriculares teóricas, tive a oportunidade de efetuar os estágios referidos, onde foram realizadas um conjunto
de atividades essenciais para o desenvolvimento de competências especializadas, conjugadas com a minha experiência profissional prévia.
Conclusão: Foi possível a aquisição de competências comuns e específicas, que se encontra descritas neste relatório, como futura Enfermeira Especialista na área de Enfermagem Médicocirúrgica
na Pessoa em Situação Crítica. Considero igualmente, que a procura de conhecimento
atualizado continua a ser um caminho a percorrer.

Abstract Introduction: This report is part of the curriculum for the master’s Program in Medical- Surgical Nursing, in the area of Critical Care Nursing, at the Viseu School of Health. Its objective is to describe, justify, and analyze the learning journey undertaken during the clinical rotations, in the context of Emergency and Intensive Care, which contributed to the acquisition of common and specific competencies for the nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the area of Critical Care Nursing. This final report also includes a research study, grounded in clinical practice, in an area of particular interest: “Prediction of Difficult Venous Access in Adults: Application of the A-DIVA Scale in a Portuguese Emergency Department”. Objective: To reflect on the skills acquired by nurses specialising in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the field of Critical Care Nursing. To present the results of a research study. Methods: A critical and reflective analysis of the activities carried out during placements in the A&E Department and the Multi-purpose Intensive Care Unit of a Local Health Unit. Results: As part of my academic program, in addition to the various theoretical courses, I had the opportunity to complete the afore mentioned clinical rotations, where I performed a series of activities essential for the development of specialized skills, combined with my professional experience. Conclusion: I was able to acquire the general and specific competencies described in this report as a future Nurse Specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing for Critically Ill Patients. I also believe that the pursuit of up-to-date knowledge remains an ongoing process. Keywords: Nurse Specialist; Critically Ill Patients; A-DIVA Scale; Competencies.
