Abstract(s)
In a context of increasing social complexity and growing demands in resource management, social organizations face the ongoing challenge of maintaining their relevance, effectiveness, and sustainability. Within this scenario, vocational training plays a central role as a key instrument for enhancing human resources and strengthening organizational competencies. Competitiveness, in turn, should not be understood solely in economic terms, but also as the organization’s ability to innovate, adapt to new realities, and effectively respond to the demands of the surrounding environment. This dissertation examines the importance of vocational training for the competitiveness of social organizations within the context of the Third Sector, with a specific focus on the district of Viseu. As a comparative study, a quantitative methodology was adopted, using a questionnaire survey as the primary data collection instrument. The main findings of the study indicate that vocational training plays a fundamental role in social organizations by promoting the qualification of human resources, boosting organizational competitiveness, and contributing to the innovation and sustainability of the Third Sector.
