Abstract(s)
O bullying homofóbico é uma forma específica de assédio que ocorre quando a
vitimização é motivada pelo preconceito homossexual. Os jovens alunos, lésbicas,
gays, bissexuais e transsexuais (LGBT), vítimas desta forma de bullying estão mais
vulneráveis à exclusão social, isolamento e aquisição de comportamentos de risco.
O presente projeto de investigação pretende contribuir para a compreensão de
questões relacionadas com os episódios de bullying em jovens LGBT, sempre na
perspetiva da vítima e a perceção que esta tem da problemática. Neste sentido,
apresentamos como principal objetivo verificar em que medida variam os episódios de
bullying, relativamente à frequência, contextos de vitimização, tipos de bullying e
estratégias utilizadas como forma de evitar/lidar com as agressões, em função de
variáveis sociodemográficas, académicas, pessoais e institucionais.
Para responder a estes objetivos foram utilizados dois questionários, sendo um
de Suporte Social (SSQ6), que se encontra aferido para a população portuguesa, e
outro especialmente construído para a recolha dos dados de caraterização
sociodemográfica, caraterização de aspetos relacionados com a orientação sexual,
experiencias de bullying e o impacto do bullying homofóbico. Foi realizado um préteste,
sendo os resultados obtidos alvo de uma análise descritiva. Pode apurar-se que
a principal forma de vitimização é verbal e relacional, o principal contexto de
vitimização é o recreio e fora do espaço escolar, enquanto as principais estratégias
para evitar/lidar com a vitimização, são a ocultação da identidade sexual e evitar
pessoas e locais. O projeto aqui apresentado é para desenvolver num período
temporal de 6 meses.
The homophobic bullying is a specific form of harassment that occurs when the victimization is motivated by homosexual prejudice. The Lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender (LGBT) young students victims of this bullying form are more vulnerable to social exclusion, isolation risk behaviors. This research project aims to contribute to the understanding of issues related with bullying episodes in young the LGBT youth, always in the victim’s perspec tive and her perception of the problem. In this sense, we present as main objective: Characterization of the bullying episodes (relative to the frequency, victimization context, bullying types and strategies used to avoid/deal with aggressions), according to sociodemographic, academic, personal and institutional variables. For the data collection was used two questionnaires: the portuguese form of Social Support (SSQ6), and another one specially built for collecting sociodemographic data, characterization of sexual orientation related aspects, bullying experiences and the impact of homophobic bullying. The results of the descriptive and exploratory analysis of the pre-test showed verbal and relational as the main forms of bullying that occurs in the playground and outside of school, while the main strategies to avoid/deal with victimization, are sexual identity occultation and to avoid people and places. The project presented will be developed in 6 months.
