Abstract(s)
Enquadramento: A procura permanente da melhoria contínua da qualidade dos cuidados de
enfermagem reveste-se de uma natureza dinâmica e sistemática que impõe a renovação, a
capacidade de mudança e de inovação, como como o aperfeiçoamento de capacidades e de
competências, considerando a relevância dos cuidados de saúde que se prestam. Neste sentido, os
enfermeiros procuram os cursos pós-graduados de especialidade, como é exemplo a Enfermagem
Médico-Cirúrgica.
Objetivos: Avaliar o nível de satisfação dos enfermeiros no exercício de funções de especialistas em
Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica; avaliar a satisfação com o curso de especialização em Enfermagem
Médico-Cirúrgica; avaliar a satisfação profissional dos enfermeiros especialista em Enfermagem
Médico-Cirúrgica; relacionar as caraterísticas sociodemográficas e profissionais dos enfermeiros
especialistas em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica com a satisfação no exercício de funções de
especialista, com a satisfação com o curso e com a satisfação profissional no trabalho; identificar as
razões da escolha da especialidade de Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica.
Métodos: Estudo quantitativo, com corte transversal, descritivo analítico-correlacional. Os dados
foram colhidos junto de 141 enfermeiros especialistas em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica a exercerem
funções na zona centro de Portugal, maioritariamente do género feminino (68,1%), com uma média
de idades de 39,45 anos (±6.92 anos). O instrumento de recolha de dados contém um questionário
de caracterização sociodemográfica e profissional, a Escala de Satisfação enquanto Enfermeiro
Especialista (Silva & Ferreira, 2018) questões sobre os motivos que mais contribuem para a
satisfação e insatisfação profissional dos enfermeiros especialistas , a Escala de Satisfação com o
Curso (Silva & Ferreira, 2018) e encontra-se a Escala de Avaliação da Satisfação no Trabalho dos
Enfermeiros (Ferreira & Loureiro, 2012).
Resultados:. Satisfação com a especialidade - Os enfermeiros sentem-se mais satisfeitos com as
competências como especialista (M=3,30±0,81), os enfermeiros que trabalham em regime de horário
fixo são os mais satisfeitos com a especialidade (p=0,020). A satisfação com a especialidade é mais
evidente por parte dos que gostam da profissão e que têm a categoria de especialista, p=0,002) e os
que desempenham as funções de especialista. Os dois motivos que mais contribuem para a sua
insatisfação profissional, enquanto enfermeiro especialista, foram a remuneração, a falta de
reconhecimento social (31,91%), a não progressão na carreira (31,91%) e a falta de reconhecimento
por parte da chefia (16,31%). Os motivos que mais contribuem para a satisfação profissional,
enquanto enfermeiro especialista, são a aquisição de conhecimentos com base científica (31,20%),
as competências adquiridas para prestar cuidados (12,76%) e o reconhecimento geral (11,34%).
Satisfação com o curso - Os enfermeiros adapataram-se bem ao curso e sentem-se satisfeitos com o
mesmo sendo mais valorizada a articulação das disciplinas (M=3,78±0,77). Os enfermeiros casados
ou a viverem em união de facto estão mais satisfeitos com o curso (satisfação com a adaptação ao
curso; p=0,001; satisfação com a organização e ambiente escolar p=0,039; fator global p=0,008).
Satisfação com o trabalho – na satisfação com o trabalho foi mais valorizado o contexto de trabalho
(M=4,01±0,58). Os enfermeiros casados/união de facto estão mais satisfeitos com o trabalho
(satisfação com os benefícios e recompensas, p=0,031; satisfação com a comunicação p=0,028; fator
global p=0,032). Os enfermeiros com a categoria de especialista e os que desempenham funções de
especialista estão mais satisfeitos com o trabalho. Os enfermeiros com menos carga horária semanal,
com horário fixo, que não acumulam funções e que gostam da profissão estão mais satisfeitos com o
trabalho
Conclusões: Globalmente, os enfermeiros especialistas encontram-se satisfeitos com a
especialidade, com o curso e com a profissão. Para se garantir a excelência da prática de cuidados
de enfermagem, de forma a prosseguir os objetivos e a missão da profissão, as instituições de saúde
devem elaborar estratégias para melhorar a satisfação, promover e potenciar um maior
reconhecimento dos enfermeiros especialistas em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, proporcionandolhes
melhores condições de trabalho, para que se possam prestar melhores cuidados e ter um maior
rendimento profissional.
Abstract Background: The ongoing quest for continuous improvement in the quality of nursing care is dynamic and systematic, requiring renewal, capacity for change and innovation, such as the improvement of skills and competences, taking into account the relevance of care health care they provide. In this sense, nurses seek postgraduate specialty courses, such as Medical-Surgical Nursing. Objectives: To evaluate the level of satisfaction of nurses in the exercise of specialist roles in Medical-Surgical Nursing; to evaluate the satisfaction with the specialization course in Medical- Surgical Nursing; to evaluate the professional satisfaction of nurses specialized in Medical-Surgical Nursing; to relate the sociodemographic and professional characteristics of the specialist nurses in Medical-Surgical Nursing with the satisfaction in the exercise of specialist functions, with the satisfaction with the course and with the professional satisfaction in the work; to identify the reasons for choosing the specialty of Medical-Surgical Nursing.
