Abstract(s)
turismo a nível global.
ABSTRACT: Community-based tourism becomes increasingly important in the sense of understanding that the existence of the community can transform its socio-economic and political conditions, and in this way become a niche market for the tourism sector at a global level. The relationship between residents and tourists is also approached as a relationship based on an exchange of resources and services between individuals. In order to carry out this research, a thorough review of existing literature on the themes of Sustainability, Risk Perception, the Covid-19 pandemic, the Brand and Image of a tourist destination and the relationship between residents and tourists was conducted in order to understand the perceptions that residents have regarding the motivations that lead tourists to choose Murça as a destination to visit and also perceive the impacts of tourism activity on the destination under study and on the local community. The objective of this research is based on the analysis of the importance of communitybased tourism in a post-covid-19 pandemic scenario for the development of low density territory. A literature review was conducted that allowed understanding the scientific basis of this research and from there it was developed the questionnaire survey applied to residents of the Municipality of Murça. The results of the questionnaire survey indicate that two hundred and one individuals participated in the research, however only one hundred and twelve responded fully to the questionnaire survey, and therefore, the latter number is considered the respondents for further research, obtaining their socio-demographic characterization, the cognitive image they have about the tourist destination under analysis, as well as the affective and spontaneous image of it, the impacts that tourism activity has on the destination and the local community. Finally, through a factor analysis of a set of several items related to the image of the destination and the impacts of tourism, it is concluded that residents consider that tourism is necessary for Murça, as it gives greater visibility to the municipality, however this is not enough, causing little participation by the community.
