Abstract(s)
The neoplasms in small animals have great relevance in the clinic of pets, not only for its increasing incidence, but also because of its gravity.
This study includes a review of the subject, combined with a case study of mammary tumours in felines, from the Pathology Laboratory of Agrarian School of Viseu samples.
The mammary neoplasias have higher incidence in not spayed geriatric females, being rare in animals younger than 7 years. The Siamese breed presented, the higher risk of mammary neoplasias development.
Most of the analyzed neoplasias were malignant. The main signs of malignancy include tumor size, adherence to tissues, ulceration and lymph nodes involvement.
