Introdução: A crescente complexidade dos cuidados de saúde, exige profissionais altamente qualificados, cuja prática clínica se fundamenta em evidência científica, enfatizando-se o papel essencial do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Reabilitação (EEER) na promoção da autonomia e recuperação da funcionalidade da pessoa. Neste contexto, a aquisição e consolidação de competências proporcionada pelos estágios, bem como o desenvolvimento do estudo sobre a perceção dos Enfermeiros Especialistas em Enfermagem de Reabilitação (EEER) na capacitação da pessoa submetida a Artroplastia da Anca (AA), reforçam estes desideratos.
Objetivo: Descrever o processo de aquisição e desenvolvimento de competências comuns e específicas em Enfermagem de Reabilitação (ER) durante os estágios, assim como explorar a perceção do EEER sobre o processo de capacitação da pessoa submetida a AA.
Metodologia: Este relatório foi dividido em duas partes. A primeira parte refere-se à componente clínica, onde se recorreu à metodologia descritiva para refletir sobre o processo de desenvolvimento de competências comuns e específicas. A segunda parte corresponde à componente de investigação, e integra um estudo qualitativo, exploratório e descritivo, com recolha de dados através de dois focus group online intitulado “Perceção do EEER sobre o processo de capacitação da pessoa submetida a Artroplastia da Anca”, encontrando-se estruturado em formato de artigo.
Resultados: A realização dos estágios permitiu o desenvolvimento de competências através da aplicação da teoria na prática, da reflexão sobre a ação, da vivência de experiências desafiantes e da oportunidade de desenvolver projetos na área da ER. A componente de investigação revelou a perceção do EEER sobre a capacitação da pessoa submetida a AA, com necessidade de desenvolver uma intervenção personalizada ao longo do processo cirúrgico, assumindo um papel preponderante na continuidade e qualidade dos cuidados, de forma a garantir uma transição de cuidados segura.
Conclusão: O desenvolvimento e consolidação das competências comuns e específicas do EEER, fundamentais na sua intervenção em contexto de prática clínica foi concretizado com a realização dos estágios. Paralelamente, o estudo realizado evidenciou a perceção dos EEER sobre o processo capacitação da pessoa submetida a AA, aspeto essencial num contexto de transição após a alta hospitalar.

Abstract Introduction: The growing complexity of healthcare demands highly qualified professionals whose clinical practice is grounded in scientific evidence. In this context, the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist plays a crucial role in promoting autonomy and restoring functional capacity. Clinical placements contribute significantly to the acquisition and consolidation of competencies, while research on the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist perception of patient empowerment following Hip Arthroplasty further reinforces this objective. Objective: To describe the process of acquiring and developing core and specific competencies in Rehabilitation Nursing during clinical placements, and to explore the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist perception of the empowerment process of patients undergoing Hip Arthroplasty. Methods: This report is structured in two parts. The first refers to the clinical component, adopting a descriptive methodology to reflect on the development of general and specific competencies. The second part presents the research component—a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study—conducted through two online focus groups, entitled "Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist Perceptions on the Empowerment Process of Patients Undergoing Hip Arthroplasty”, and structured in the form of a scientific article. Results: Clinical placements enabled competency development through theory-to-practice integration, reflective practice, challenging experiences, and the implementation of projects in the Rehabilitation Nursing field. The research revealed that Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist perceive patient empowerment throughout the hip arthroplasty process as requiring personalized interventions, emphasizing their pivotal role in ensuring continuity and quality of care to support a safe transition post-discharge. Conclusion: The development and consolidation of core and specific competencies essential to Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist practice were achieved through clinical placements. Simultaneously, the study highlighted the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialist critical perspective on the empowerment process of patients undergoing hip arthroplasty, a key factor for safe and effective care transitions after hospital discharge.
