Abstract(s)
NVIVO.
gravidez.

Abstract Introduction: Pregnancy is a state in which different physical discomforts and emotional fluctuations frequently arise, in which there are limitations to the therapeutic resource (little pharmacological diversity and/or the woman's fears and limiting beliefs). The benefits of aromatherapy and the impact experienced by women who used aromatherapy are essential for transforming healthcare and enabling nurses specializing in maternal and obstetric health nursing to make the pregnancy experience a positive one. Objectives: Develop the skills necessary to obtain the title of Master and Specialist Nurse in Maternal Health and Obstetric Nursing; map the existing scientific evidence about the benefits of aromatherapy in the discomforts inherent to pregnancy and identify the impact of applying aromatherapy during pregnancy. Methodology: Several internships were carried out in the various areas of Maternal Health, Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing, in compliance with the minimum legally required experiences and acquisition of common and specific skills of the specialist nurse. n Part II, we carried out two studies: a scoping review with research in the CINAHL, PubMed, Medline, WOS, VHL MTCI and Science Direct databases, using the DECS “Aromatherapy” and “Pregnancy”, using the Boolean operator “AND” , with 10 scientific articles included, which comply with the proposed objective and inclusion criteria, after reading in full; and a qualitative phenomenological investigation, where 11 interviews were carried out with women who used aromatherapy during pregnancy, authorized by the Ethics Committee of the Instituto Politécnico de Viseu and content analysis was carried out through the NVIVO program. Results: The practical elaboration of 5 different internship areas made it possible to obtain common and specific skills for nurses specializing in maternal and obstetric health nursing. Through Scooping Review, aromatherapy was identified as a resource to prevent or reduce nausea and vomiting, low back pain, sleep disorders, itching, stress, anxiety and fatigue in pregnant women. With the second study, it was possible to identify 5 categories: “Use of aromatherapy”, “Aromatherapy in pregnancy”, Aromatherapy method”, Lived experience” and “Perception of health professionals” on the impact of aromatherapy on pregnancy. Conclusion: After completing the internship, we fulfill the minimum number of experiences and acquire the skills necessary to obtain the title of Specialist Nurse in Maternal Health and Obstetric Nursing. With the research carried out, it is concluded that the essential oils used were effective, as they reduced symptoms in the majority of pregnant women who participated in the studies analyzed and that there was a positive impact on the application of aromatherapy during pregnancy. Aromatherapy during pregnancy is thus a therapy to be implemented by EEESM during pregnancy, with the aim of providing a healthy, positive and happy pregnancy. Keywords: Pregnancy; Aromatherapy; Discomforts; Impact; Obstetric Nursing.
