Abstract(s)
O setor do turismo está em permanente mudança devido às constantes alterações no
comportamento dos turistas, que se tornam cada vez mais exigentes. Desta forma, o aumento
da competitividade leva a que os destinos tenham de inovar no desenvolvimento de novos
produtos, marcas e a reinventar os mercados tradicionais.
Tendo como ponto de partida esta importância de os destinos turísticos inovarem os
produtos oferecidos, os objetivos deste trabalho relacionam-se com a criação de uma
estratégia diferenciadora para o turismo de São Pedro do Sul, tendo por base o turismo
gastronómico e a criatividade (Rede de Cidades Criativas da UNESCO). Pretende-se analisar
e caracterizar a sua oferta gastronómica e o seu potencial turístico, identificar o perfil e as
motivações gastronómicas dos visitantes, realizar uma análise de benchmarking tendo em
vista outras cidades que já sejam Cidades Criativas da UNESCO, na área da gastronomia,
salientando as melhores práticas e, por último redigir um conjunto de sugestões para o
desenvolvimento de São Pedro do Sul enquanto destino de gastronomia que poderão ser
aproveitadas para uma futura candidatura da cidade à Rede de Cidades Criativas da
UNESCO.
De modo a alcançar os objetivos propostos, optou-se pela realização de inquéritos por
questionário, a visitantes (atuais e potenciais) e residentes, durante quatro meses (fevereiro
a maio). A recolha dos duzentos e nove inquéritos foi feita online- através das redes sociaise por email aos hotéis do concelho. Os resultados obtidos foram posteriormente analisados,
com recurso ao software SPSS, permitindo verificar os objetivos inicialmente propostos.
Ao fim de analisados os resultados do questionário, foram sugeridas algumas ações
que permitem desenvolver São Pedro do Sul enquanto destino de gastronomia, propondo
ideias para alcançar visitantes a nível local, regional, nacional e internacional, e que vão ao
encontro do que é necessário para a ficha de candidatura à Rede de Cidades Criativas.
Com a conclusão da investigação é possível percecionar o parecer favorável quanto
ao desenvolvimento e promoção de São Pedro do Sul enquanto destino de gastronomia,
evidenciando por parte dos inquiridos uma opinião bastante positiva para uma futura
candidatura de São Pedro do Sul à Rede de Cidades Criativas da UNESCO, na categoria de
gastronomia.
ABSTRACT: The tourism sector is constantly changing due to the constant changes in the behavior of tourists, who become increasingly demanding. In this way, increasing competitiveness leads destinations to innovate in the development of new products, brands and reinventing traditional markets. Based on this importance of the tourist destinations innovating the products offered, the objectives of this work are related to the creation of a differentiating strategy for tourism in São Pedro do Sul, based on gastronomic tourism and creativity (UNESCO Creative Cities Network). It is intended to analyze and characterize its gastronomic offer and its tourism potential, identify the profile and gastronomic motivations of visitors, carry out a benchmarking analysis with a view to other cities that are already UNESCO Creative Cities, in the area of gastronomy, highlighting the best practices and, finally, writing a set of suggestions for the development of São Pedro do Sul as a gastronomic destination that may be used for a future application of the city to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. To reach the proposed objectives, it was decided to carry out a questionnaire surveys to visitors (current and potential) and residents, for four months (February to May). The two hundred and nine surveys were collected online - through social networks - and by email to local hotels. The results obtained were later analyzed, using the SPSS software, allowing to verify the objectives initially proposed. After analyzing the results of the questionnaire, some actions were suggested that allow the development of São Pedro do Sul as a gastronomy destination, proposing ideas to reach the public at a local, regional, national and international level, and that meet what is necessary for the application form to the Creative Cities Network. In conclusion of the research, it is possible to perceive the favorable opinion regarding the development and promotion of São Pedro do Sul as a gastronomic destination, evidencing from the part of the respondents a very positive opinion for a future application of São Pedro do Sul to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, in the gastronomy category.
