Abstract(s)
Enquadramento: O uso do preservativo é uma das formas mais eficazes para a prevenção
e proteção das doenças sexualmente transmissíveis, principalmente o HIV/AIDS, entretanto,
ainda existe por parte da sociedade grande resistência quanto à sua utilização,
principalmente na adolescência. Do que se observa, nessa fase, os jovens, tomados por
ideais abstratos, têm grande dificuldade em conceber as consequências dos seus atos,
tornando-se ainda mais vulneráveis a diversos agravos. O estudo objetivou analisar os
principais fatores que influenciam a adesão ao uso do preservativo masculino pelos
adolescentes brasileiros. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo exploratório com abordagem
quantitativa. A amostra foi composta por 95 (noventa e cinco) adolescentes de ambos os
sexos na faixa etária de 13 (treze) a 19 (dezenove) anos. Para a coleta dos dados foi
utilizado um instrumento contendo questões fechadas e mistas, subdivididas em três etapas
de variáveis sociodemográficas, comportamentais e de conhecimento sobre o tema em
questão. Foram tratados através de estatística descritiva e do teste de Fisher e Pearson. Os
sujeitos pertencem a ambos os sexos, (49,5% do sexo masculino e 50,5% do sexo
femenino); o ensino médio é prevalente entre as adolescentes (58,9%); a maioria é
composta por solteiros, evangélicos, além de morarem com os pais, que tem apenas nível
médio e com renda mensal entre 01 (um) e 03 (três) salários mínimos. Quanto aos hábitos,
a maioria não ingere bebida alcoólica (80%), não fuma, nem usa drogas ilícitas. 36,8% já
namoraram. O início da atividade sexual prevaleceu na faixa etária entre 13 (treze) e 15
(quinze) anos, além de terem em média 02 (dois) parceiros. Quanto aos preservativos, o
masculino é conhecido pela maioria, enquanto o feminino é mais conhecido pelas meninas.
Conclusão: Os resultados apontam para o facto das questões de gênero nortearem
os comportamentos/conhecimentos sobre o uso do preservativo e DST.O uso do
preservativos na população adolescente continua inconsistente, expondo-os ao
risco.

What is observed at this stage, young people, taken by abstract ideals, have great difficulty in conceiving the consequences of their actions, making it even more vulnerable to various diseases. The study aimed to analyze the main factors influencing adherence to the use of condoms by Brazilian adolescents. It is an exploratory descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 95 (ninety five) adolescents of both sexes between the ages of thirteen (13) to nineteen (19) years. To collect the data we used an instrument containing closed and mixed questions, divided into three stages of sociodemographic, behavioral and knowledge on the subject in question. They were treated using descriptive statistics and Fisher and Pearson test. The subjects belonging to both sexes (49.5% males and 50.5% of the female sex); high school is prevalent among adolescents (58.9%); the majority are single, evangelicals, and they live with their parents, who have only high school and with monthly income between one (01) and three (03) minimum wages. Regarding habits, most do not drink alcoholic beverages (80%), do not smoke or use illegal drugs. 36.8% have dated. The onset of sexual activity prevailed between the ages of thirteen (13) and fifteen (15) years, and have an average of 02 (two) partners. As for condoms, the male is known by most, while the female is best known for girls. Conclusion: The results suggest that gender issues guide behavior / knowledge about condom use and DST.O use of condoms to adolescents remains inconsistent, exposing them to risk.
