Abstract(s)
As incubadoras de empresas têm sido ao longo dos anos fortes impulsionadoras do
empreendedorismo e inovação a nível global.
ABSTRACT: The business incubators have been, over the years, the driving force behind entrepreneurship and innovation on a global level. The constant change in markets forced companies to promote different strategies in order to survive and achieve success. However, early in life, not all companies have these capabilities, appearing then the Business Incubators that allow to fill some gaps. The main objective of this study is to analyze if the incubation of companies brings benefits to incubated companies, that is, to verify if these companies perform better than those that do not incubate. In order to analyze this issue, we selected incubated companies that originated in the Network of Incubators of Companies of the Central Region (RIERC) and non-incubated companies of the same region, same sectors of activity and similar ages. The results show that in the first years of life incubated companies perform better than non-incubated ones, an effect that tends to disappear decrease as the company gains maturity.
