Abstract(s)
The Final Internship Report developed within the scope of the Master in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st of Basic Education is a document which includes a part that refers to the critical reflection on the practices developed in the context of PréSchool Education (EPE) and 1st Cycle of Basic Education (1st CEB) and another part, which includes the study developed in order to understand the inclusion processes that have been implemented in a 1st CEB School in suburbs of Viseu and, in turn, if these have proved to be (in)effective. With regard to the first part of this report, there was a need to resort to guiding documents, including the Teacher Performance Standards. In the second part of this report, we carried out a qualitative investigation, more specifically, a case study, using semi-structured interviews with various stakeholders, sociometric tests and documental research in official documents. With the data obtained during the investigation, it was possible to draw certain conclusions, some of which are in line with the authors presented. In this way, we were able to answer the problem questions set out in this study, as well as understand and analyze the practices in the school of the 1st CEB that is the subject of study. The conclusions of this investigation highlight the work that has been carried out in the context of the inclusion of Gypsy students, based on a set of presupposed, guidelines and an innovative and differentiated pedagogy that fits the particular context. The school of the 1st CEB, which is the subject of study, thus presents an innovative and alternative methodology that aims to include students of students of various ethnicities, promoting the existence of cultural diversity in the educational space. A methodology that starts from the interests and experience of students for the development of other skills and new fundamental knowledge for social, personal, and cognitive development.
