Abstract(s)
Introdução: A parentalidade é o assumir de responsabilidades de ser pai/mãe de uma
criança durante o seu desenvolvimento, implicando um papel ativo e eficaz, o papel
parental. Este papel, que nem sempre é fácil pode tornar-se mais difícil quando a
criança fica doente e necessita de hospitalização. A atitude dos pais ao lidar com o
internamento do seu filho depende das características pessoais, dos enfermeiros e
das características das próprias crianças. Nesta situação estabelecer uma parceria de
cuidados, entre enfermeiros e pais será o melhor caminho para alcançar melhores
resultados.
Objetivos: Descrever o percurso formativo nos diversos contextos de estágio; refletir
sobre as experiências e atividades realizadas para o desenvolvimento de
competências comuns e especificas do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de
Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica e compreender o papel parental na minimização dos danos
na criança resultantes da hospitalização.
Metodologia: Descritiva e reflexiva sobre o percurso desenvolvido no contexto da
prática clínica, que inclui um estudo exploratório de natureza qualitativa, no qual se
aplicou como colheita de dados a entrevista semiestruturada, uma vez que se
pretende descrever e interpretar as narrativas de pais de crianças hospitalizadas com
idades compreendidas entre os 3 e os 10 anos, realizadas no internamento do serviço
de pediatria de um hospital central, numa amostra de 10 pais de crianças internadas.
Resultados: Da análise dos dados verificou-se que a maioria dos pais/mães referiram
que a informação acerca do motivo do internamento e da doença da criança foi
fornecida pelos enfermeiros na triagem. Todos os pais/mães mencionaram que a
hospitalização de um filho e consequentemente os procedimentos efetuados criam
neles sentimentos como angústia e ansiedade. O facto de os enfermeiros utilizarem
sempre uma linguagem clara e os envolverem nos cuidados prestados à criança foi
muito positivo e benéfico para esta tornando-a mais calma e segura. A perceção dos
pais acerca da parceria de cuidados é muito positiva, referindo que esta transmite
conforto para os pais/mães e para a criança reduzindo a ansiedade e stress neles e
na criança e que contribuiu para a melhoria do seu desempenho nos cuidados
prestados aos filhos.
Conclusão: Os resultados revelam que o papel parental é de grande importância na
minimização dos danos resultantes da hospitalização da criança, o que requer uma
parceria efetiva de cuidados. Compete, assim, aos enfermeiros estarem em alerta
para minimizar os danos, e saberem oferecer o melhor para os pais e filho internado,
tendo o enfermeiro especialista um papel fulcral na procura de melhores soluções
durante a hospitalização.

Abstract Introduction- Parenting is the assumption of responsibilities of parenting a child during its development, implying an active and effective role, the parenting role. This role, which is not always easy, can become more difficult when the child becomes ill and needs hospitalization. The attitude of parents when dealing with their child's hospitalization depends on personal characteristics, on the nurses and on the characteristics of the children themselves. In this situation, establishing a care partnership between nurses and parents is the best way to achieve better results. Objectives: To describe the training course in the different internship contexts, to reflect on the experiences and activities carried out for the development of common and specific competences of the nurse Specialist in Child and Pediatric health Nursing and to understand the parental role in minimizing the harm to the child resulting from hospitalization. Methodology: Descriptive and reflective about the path developed in the context of clinical practice, which includes an exploratory study of a qualitive nature, in which a semi-structured interview was applied as data collection, since it is intended to describe and interpret the narratives of parents of children that are hospitalized aged between 3 and 10 years, carried out in the pediatric service of a central hospital, in a sample of 10 parents of hospitalized children. Results: From the data analysis, it was found that most fathers/mothers reported that information about the reason for hospitalization and the child’s illness was provided by nurses during triage. All fathers/mothers mentioned that the hospitalization of a child and consequently the procedures performed create feelings such as anguish and anxiety in them. The fact that nurses always use clear language and involve them in the care provided to the child was very positive and beneficial for the child, making it calmer and safer. The parents’ perception of the care partnership is very positive, stating that it conveys comfort to the parents and to the child, reducing anxiety and stress in them and in the child and that it contributed to the improvement of their performance in the care provided to their children. Conclusion: The results reveal that the parental role is of great importance in minimizing the damage resulting from the hospitalization of the child, which requires an effective partnership of care. It is thus up to nurses to be on alert to minimize damage, and to know to offer the best for the parents and for the hospitalized child, with the specialist nurse having a central role in the search for better solutions during hospitalization.
