This report is the result of an internship carried out in a Multidisciplinary Technical Advisory Team to the Courts (EMAT), as part of a Master's Degree in Psychosocial Intervention with Children and Young People at Risk. The overall objective of this report was to reflect on the internship experience, focusing on intervention with children and young people at risk and in danger. The specific objectives were to deepen knowledge of the legal and technical procedures involved in protecting children and young people in danger, as well as to develop empathy, ethical sensitivity, emotional management, and critical thinking in complex and emotionally demanding situations. The internship III was based on monitoring Promotion and Protection Processes (PPP) through participation in proceedings with families, inter-institutional coordination, observation of hearings, and technical support for judicial decisions. Subsequently, the internship allowed for a Mixed Study with a Sequential Exploratory Strategy to be carried out, regarding the perception of professionals in the intervention in cases of sexual abuse of children and young people. The methodology used included a documentary analysis of PPPs and the application of a questionnaire to EMAT technicians, integrating quantitative and qualitative data. The study highlighted the incidence of sexual abuse in the family context and the difficulty of reporting it, with significant impacts on victims. Based on the analysis of the questionnaire responses, it was possible to identify existing weaknesses in this area, but also potentialities and relevant contributions to strengthening psychosocial intervention in this area, according to the perspectives of professionals.
