Abstract(s)
This study sought to verify the existence of stress sources among the teachers of a secondary school and provide a reflection about the strategies used to prevent and deal with situations of occupational stress. After the appliance of the Sociodemographic Questionnaire, performed by the authors of this study, and the Portuguese Occupational Stress Scale - Teachers Version – EPSO-D (Mota Cardoso et al., 2002) to 80 teachers, the analysis of the results showed the existence of occupational Stress. The values obtained were similar to the Portuguese population average found by Mota Cardoso et al. (2002). The results found to the variables „city where you would like to work‟, „change of the workplace‟, and „teaching professional courses or simultaneously professional and scientific courses‟ are considered innovative and relevant, due to their influence in stress levels.
