Abstract(s)
bicicleta elétrica, promovendo a mobilidade sustentável.
baterias.
ABSTRACT: Nowadays, the bicycle is recognised internationally not merely as a form of leisure but also as a means of urban transport and a promoter of good health. Cycling is a healthy, clean, economical and fun way to be mobile that brings many additional advantages and it should be adopted increasingly, especially by younger people and by those commuting to school or work. In Europe, even though we have unmatched conditions of positive differentiation, our country has one of the lowest rates of use of soft forms of mobility. Planning aimed at road transport has contributed largely to this. Recently, the “Sustainable Mobility Project” took a step towards promoting a change of paradigm in the context of national networks of soft mobility, which is imperative nowadays. To improve performance and diminish the effort required when using the traditional bicycle uphill, we have opted for an assisted electric bicycle, which is a hybrid vehicle that allows faster and more comfortable commuting. The present dissertation aims to present a highly efficient, high performance electric bicycle and, simultaneously, to disseminate accurate knowledge regarding this form of transport, helping to raise awareness of the great benefits of using the electric bicycle and promoting sustainable transport. After a rigorous and detailed study of the kinematic two-wheeled vehicle, and based on the desired levels of performance, the bicycle project was developed, the component parts of the project were selected and the theoretical foundations that justify our choice were presented. The framework was based on a conventional design, adapted to carry the batteries. Different simulations of the kinematic study were carried out and various calculations were made for consumption, autonomy, associated costs and environmental impact, as well as all the benefits resulting from using the electric bicycle. To communicate the qualities of the projected bicycle efficiently, the brand and slogan were created, the logo was designed and the website was built to publish the general data of the project. The website also contributes to dissemination, awareness raising and promotes the use of the electric bicycle. Opting to use the bicycle as an alternative form of transport to the automobile, especially in urban contexts, presents undeniable advantages that fully justify the promotion of this means of soft mobility.
