Abstract(s)
Popular literature of oral transmission appears threatened by the invasion of the media, particularly the internet, television and radio, driving people away from moments of oral tradition and gatherings in places suitable for the transmission of stories, legends, poems and songs. In this work we intend to talk about the storytellers and their importance for the preservation of the most ancient form of storytelling, oral. Through the counters will analyze the evolution of storytelling and performance. The storyteller preserves the traditional heritage to convey storylines, values, knowledge, models and prejudices of the medium in which it appears. This is also a creator, it creates its own performance and submit it to the scrutiny of the listeners. For this dissertation interviewed two storytellers who helped us understand the differences between traditional and contemporary counter. Certain that the oral tradition is one of the characteristic elements and spontaneous cultural heritage of the people and the expression of their identity, leave work at the end of a proposal to help the animators to develop their ability to count and to encourage the promotion of activities to recover this old form of tradition.
