Abstract(s)
Enquadramento: Numa sociedade em crescente transformação de valores e
padrões culturais, são inúmeros os desafios que se colocam aos adolescentes, em particular
na área da sexualidade, e estes podem levar a adopção de atitudes e condutas sexuais com
implicações na sua saúde.
Objectivos: Identificar as atitudes face à sexualidade; analisar as relações
existentes entre as atitudes face à sexualidade e as variáveis sócio-demográficas e as
vivências da sexualidade e ainda identificar os factores determinantes que influenciam as
atitudes face à sexualidade dos alunos do 3º ciclo das escolas do Concelho de Tabuaço e
Fundão.
Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, descritivo-correlacional, explicativo e
transversal, com uma amostra não probabilística por conveniência de 545 alunos (262
rapazes e 283 raparigas), idade média de 13,95 anos. O protocolo de avaliação inclui um
questionário que permite fazer a caracterização sócio-demográfica e as vivências da
sexualidade e ainda a Escala de atitudes face à sexualidade em adolescentes (Nelas, Silva,
Ferreira, Duarte e Chaves, 2010).
Resultados: Os principais interlocutores da sexualidade são os amigos (59,8%),
secundado pela mãe (40,9%). Na amostra, 12,7% já teve relações sexuais, sendo que
43,1% iniciou-as aos 14 anos, com os rapazes a começarem mais cedo a prática sexual. A
maioria (46,6%) apresenta atitudes favoráveis face à sexualidade e 40,4% atitudes
desfavoráveis. Os alunos do sexo feminino, com 14 anos, que frequentam o 8º e 9º ano,
residentes na cidade, que falam com a mãe sobre sexualidade e que ainda não iniciaram a
actividade sexual apresentam atitudes mais favoráveis face à sexualidade. São factores
determinantes das atitudes face à sexualidade o concelho, o sexo, a mãe, os amigos e o
ano de escolaridade.
Conclusão: Face aos resultados obtidos é essencial que os factores que influenciam
as atitudes face à sexualidade sejam tidos em conta na implementação de programas de
educação sexual no 3º ciclo do ensino básico.

In the sample, 12,7% have already had sexual relations, being that 43,1% began at the age of 14 years old, in which the boys started earlier their sexual relations. The majority (46,6%) presents favorable attitudes regarding to the sexuality and 40,4% disfavorable attitudes. The female pupils, with 14 years old, who attend the 8th and 9th school year, living in the city, who talk with their mother about sexuality and that they have not started yet the sexual activity, present more favorable attitudes according to the sexuality. The council, the sex, the mother, the friends and the school year are determinative factors of the attitudes according to the sexuality. Conclusion: According to the final results, it is important that the factors, wich influence the attitudes regarding to the sexuality, must be taken into account on the implementation of the sexual educational programs in the third cycle of basic education.
