Abstract(s)
a transplante hepático.

Abstract Introduction: The reference nurse model forms the basis’ comprehensive, individualized care, centered on the child and family, and is similar to family’ in primary health care. Recognizing its importance, through an empirical research, we were able to contribute to the creation of nursing evidence and a scientific basis for reflection and improvement in the practice of nursing care for children undergoing liver transplantation. Objectives: To describe the parents' perception of the role of the reference nurse in the care of children undergoing liver transplantation; reflect on the importance of the reference nurse model based on the experiences of parents of children undergoing liver transplantation. Methodology: This is a qualitative, exploratory-descriptive study of a phenomenological nature, Level I, through the application of a semi-structured interview, to a non-probabilistic sample of 5 parents, followed by content analysis. Ethical aspects were respected, namely the anonymization and autonomy of the participants. Results: Despite not identifying the name of the model, they recognized its applicability during their child's hospitalization, as well as the team of professionals who performed it. They emphasize characteristics of the reference nurse that differentiate him from another professional, value personalized and individualized follow-up, finding themselves satisfied with the present model of care delivery. Conclusion : We believe that this study can provide contributions to optimize the use of the reference model in the practice of specialized nursing care, given the positive perception of parents of children undergoing liver transplantation. Keywords: primary nursing; parents; nursing care; child; hospitalization; liver transplantation.
