Abstract(s)
Comuns e Específicas do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem Médico Cirúrgica. No
O primeiro estágio ocorreu no Serviço
Resultados: Foram incluídos 125 doentes, maioritariamente do género masculino
As
baixos (β=-0,20).

Abstract This report comes within the scope of the Curricular Unit “Internship with Final Report in an Emergency Context and in the context of Intensive Care, inserted in the syllabus of the master’s degree and Post-Licentiate Specialization Course in Medical-Surgical Nursing at the Superior School of Health of Viseu. During the course, the path developed during this period in the acquisition of Common and Specific Skills of the Specialist Nurse in Medical- Surgical Nursing was systematized. Along this academic path, in addition to the different theoretical curricular units, I had the opportunity to carry out a set of experiences in two distinct internship contexts, essential for the development of specialized skills, combined with my previous experience in this area of intervention. The first stage took place at the General Emergency Service and the second at the Intensive Care Unit of CHTV. The reflection about the common and specific competences, which are described, proves to be very constructive and enriching, contributing to the perception of my abilities as a future Specialist Nurse. The objectives defined in each of the stages were achieved, and the activities developed to achieve them were adequate. The internships were an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills. The research developed that culminated in the elaboration of an article, the theme Health Literacy levels in stage 4 and 5 Chronic Kidney Disease patients and their preditors. The Theme chosen was in the area of nephrology/dialysis to which I have been dedicated for the last 20 years. Introduction: Health literacy improves population health and enables better use of services. This dimension of health outcomes is particularly relevant when applied to chronic disease management, due to its potential impact on morbidity and mortality and quality of life. Objetives: To describe the levels and determine the predictors of health literacy in patients with chronic kidney disease. Methods: A non-experimental, quantitative, cross-sectional descriptive-correlational study was conducted at the Clarification Consultation of the Dialysis Unit of the Centro Hospitalar Tondela Viseu. Data analysis was based on descriptive statistics and a multivariate linear regression model was performed using the Forward method. Results: We included 125 patients, mostly males (65.4%), with a mean age of 63.46 years (±14.64 years). Problematic health literacy prevails (35.5%), followed by inadequate health literacy (31.5%). Higher levels of inadequate health literacy (36.4%) prevail among females, and problematic health literacy (36.2%) among males. Education and gender are predictors of health literacy with moderate to low positive effects (β=0.47 and β=0.13, respectively) and age with low negative effects (β=-0.20). Conclusion: The implementation of strategies to promote more health literacy in people with chronic kidney disease is essential for them to adopt adherence and treatment behaviours with positive health outcomes. Keywords: Specialist Nurse, Skills development; Specialized nursing care; Person in Critical Situation.
