RESUMO
Na actualidade, em Portugal, a integração social de indivíduos ciganos continua a ser
um processo difícil. A etnia cigana continua a ser segregada no acesso à habitação,
no acesso ao mercado de trabalho e até no acesso à educação. É neste seguimento
que surge este trabalho de projecto, com o objectivo de investigar a problemática da
integração social de crianças de etnia cigana na Escola Pública. Este estudo pretende
conhecer melhor a realidade das crianças ciganas na escola, nomeadamente se estas
estão ou não integradas socialmente na mesma, os indicadores e os factores
facilitadores dessa integração. No âmbito da presente investigação foram efectuadas
entrevistas a professores do 1º ciclo com o intuito de obter indicadores que nos
permitissem construir um questionário, válido, capaz de avaliar a integração social das
crianças de etnia cigana na escola. Este questionário será aplicado em seis escolas
EB1 do concelho de Viseu, todas elas com elevada frequência de crianças de etnia
cigana, e será respondido pelo professor responsável por cada turma. Espera-se que
este estudo possa despertar um maior interesse e curiosidade por este tema e que
possa servir de inspiração para a construção de trabalhos futuros nesta área.
ABSTRACT Nowadays, in Portugal, the gipsy individual’s social integration it´s still a hard process. This ethnic group continues to suffer segregation in the access to habitation, work, market and even to education. It´s in this context that the project works is developed, with the purpose to investigate the gipsy children social integration at public school problematic. This study intends to know better the reality in school of these children, especially if they are socially integrated and the factor and indicator of this integration. Because of this research, where made several interview by teachers, in order to obtain a questionnaire to assess capable to know if there are social integration of gipsy children in school. This questionnaire will be applied in six different schools from Viseu, all them with high frequency of gipsy children, and this questionnaire will be answer by the teacher responsible from each class. We hope that this study bring a big interest and curiosity about this theme and that others let them be inspired, so that we can have many works about this theme, in the future.
