Parametrização da Carroçaria de um Automóvel por Modelação 3D: Construção de um Protótipo

Abstract(s)
Com este trabalho pretende-se trazer, de novo, à estrada um automóvel da curta, mas
muito interessante indústria automóvel portuguesa da década de 50. Este automóvel,
composto de chassis/longarinas e carroçaria é anterior à era dos atuais automóveis
ligeiros em monobloco. O veículo está mecanicamente completo, mas sem carroçaria,
destruída num acidente em competição. Sem acesso aos desenhos técnicos da
carroçaria e dispondo apenas do documento para aprovação do modelo na então DGV,
desenho sem detalhe e apenas com as cotas principais, tornou-se necessário o recurso
a novas técnicas de parametrização e de modelação, técnicas que a empresa de
restauro não domina.
Neste trabalho de projeto construiu-se o modelo virtual 3D do veículo, no seu todo, a
partir do qual se construirão os gabaritos necessários à moldação dos diferentes
painéis da carroçaria, recorrendo a uma roda inglesa. Este trabalho permitirá, assim,
não só a reconstrução do automóvel, mas também servir de suporte técnico para a
aprovação do veículo para circulação junto da entidade competente IMT.
Com este estudo dá-se também a conhecer as tentativas para trazer para Portugal a
indústria automóvel, as falhadas e as concretizadas, bem como as marcas de
automóveis portuguesas. As dificuldades e as lutas daqueles que tiveram a audácia de
dar início a uma indústria automóvel em Portugal.
The aim of this work is to bring back to the road a car from the short-lived but very interesting Portuguese automobile industry of the 1950s. This car, made up of a chassis/longliner and bodywork, predates the era of today's unibody cars. The vehicle is mechanically complete, but without the body, which was destroyed in a racing accident. Without access to the technical drawings of the bodywork and having only the document for approval of the model at the then DGV, a drawing with no details and only the main dimensions, it became necessary to use new parameterization and modelling techniques, techniques that the restoration company did not master. In this project, the 3D virtual model of the vehicle was built, from which the templates needed to shape the different body panels will be built, using an English wheel. This work will not only enable the car to be rebuilt but will also serve as technical support for the vehicle's approval for use by the IMT. This study also reveals the attempts to bring the automobile industry to Portugal, both failed and successful, as well as the Portuguese car brands. The difficulties and struggles of those who had the audacity to start an automobile industry in Portugal.
