This report focuses on the internship carried out at a District Social Security Center, namely in the Childhood and Youth Unit, between December 2024 and June 2025, with the aim of describing and reflecting on the professional practice and the learning acquired. The methodology selected was the Project Planning by Objectives Methodology (MPPO), which includes diagnosis, definition of objectives, implementation of appropriate measures/activities, and evaluation. Additionally, a descriptive study was developed on the theme "Perceptions of EMAT technicians: Challenges and principles of intervention with children/young people in danger and their families," using a questionnaire applied to 12 professionals. The results showed that the professionals consider essential strategies such as building trust, active listening, clearly defining objectives, understanding the life history of the child/young person and family, neutrality and emotional control, guaranteeing privacy, and the participation of the child/young person in the process. Among the main challenges are the excessive workload, the high number of reports, the scarcity of human resources and community responses, as well as the difficulty in meeting procedural deadlines. The following were highlighted as facilitating factors: bidirectional and multidisciplinary work, coordination between different services, intervention focused on the best interests of the child, raising families' awareness of the need for change, cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity, continuous professional development, development of skills in parenting training, and availability of responses. These results emphasize the importance of integrated and collaborative strategies for intervention focused on the needs of children/young people and their families. The internship allowed for the development of professional and personal skills, contributing to the understanding and critical reflection on the complexity underlying psychosocial intervention with children and young people at risk and/or in danger and their families.
